Winter Solstice
Happy Winter Solstice to all! The winter solstice marks the first day of winter, as well as the longest night and shortest day of the year. Too many it is known to be the darkest day of the year. My coworker shared with me his culture’s tradition on the winter solstice, called Shabe Yalda. In his culture / religion people celebrate the winter solstice by staying home with family and friends, lighting candles, sharing food, and reading poetry. The tradition is to celebrate the longest night of the year with people you love and rejoice when the sun comes up the next day.
My coworker told me, “It is a time to light up the darkness” and I really loved that.
I will continue with 28 days of grateful.
I am grateful for being able to get gifts this Christmas and spoil my loved ones.
I am grateful for the roof over my head and food in my fridge.
I am grateful for my education and for my school and my teachers.
I am grateful for the people close to me that really do ride for me, it is truly a blessing to have people really rock with you and ride for you.
I am grateful for 2022, the lessons, the fun times, all of it.
