28 Days of Gratitude: Mid July
We are finally in mid-July. July holds a special place in my heart as a true summer month, embodying the essence of warm nights and carefree days. There’s a magic in the air during mid-summer nights, making me feel wild and free, much like Lana Del Rey’s lyrics, "Mid summer nights, Mid July, when you and I were forever wild." I cherish being a summer baby, born in this vibrant month, filled with fond memories of fun-filled nights, family vacations, and peaceful retreats.
This month also reminds me of my dear friend, my Cancer bestie, Dejah. We’ve been friends since we were 14, growing into womanhood together. Our friendship is a blessing, a bond that has flourished over the years. She’s my big sister, the one I never had, her family is my family. I’m incredibly grateful for her presence in my life, for the shared moments and the unwavering support. True friendship, like ours, is a rare gem.
Reflecting on the past week, I am profoundly grateful for my lifelong friends. The strong bonds we share are a testament to the beauty of enduring friendships. Just last night, I visited my best friend of 15 years. We laughed, reminisced, and enjoyed each other’s company, as if we were 14 again. These moments, filled with joy and familiarity, never get old.
Having these connections brings immense joy and a sense of belonging. As the oldest girl in my family, I’ve found sisterhood in these friendships, women who uplift and guide me. Their presence in my life is invaluable, offering wisdom, support, and love. Im so grateful for my sisters. I encourage you to find good friends grow with them, and support them. You will find yourself blessed and supported back as you grow together.
