A day off

A day off

Happy May to all of my readers! I am thankful to be alive, healthy, and happy going into the 5th month of 2018. I recently had two consecutive days off, which is kind of a rarity for me, so I cherish my two days off! It was Wednesday and I woke up at 9:30 a.m. to a text message from my oldest friend that read, "Hey! What are you up too?" As soon as I read the text I knew it was going to be a great day.

I am a person who likes to have a general plan of action when traveling but sometimes that just isn't realistic, and spur of the moment plans seem to work out effortlessly. I planned a whole day trip in less than 5 minutes, totally random but perfect. I decided to take a little trip to San Francisco with one of my oldest friends, whom I have known since I was 5 years old. That is 17 years of my life that I have known her. If I can say one thing about friendship it is that friendship is something that comes natural, and requires understanding of two people. We are both aware of each others flaws, and strengths and we use that general knowledge to build each other up, strengthen and further our friendship. It is nice when two people understand each other, can compliment each other, and have fun together. It is a true blessing to find lasting friendship in this life.

We went to the amazing cat cafe in San Francisco called Kittea. It was my friends first time at a cat cafe, my 2nd time. "Bucket list sh*t" is what my friend described the experience at the cat cafe, which served Japanese green tea, and housed about 11 cats. The cat cafe pairs with a local shelter, so all the cats are rescued, spade and neutered, plus have their shots up to date. It is quite an experience, there is a separate cafe that one can grab coffee at and observe the cats thru an open glass, then there is the room that houses the cats, benches, pillows, tables, and various cat beds, and toys. We paid for an hour in the cat room, surrounded by all types of beautiful, colorful, furry cats and unlimited tea! This place is definitely a must visit!

After the cat cafe, I rolled Lemon Fuel x Jet Fuel OG in a honey bourbon Backwoods, and we drove to the pier to eat at an old restaurant called Scoma's. They specialize in seafood dishes, and have excellent service! I ordered the crab cakes, and shrimp pasta. My friend ordered fresh oysters, which I tried for the first time! (Not bad at all). Overall it was a beautiful day off, completely stress free. I was feeling a bit restless in Stockton, I needed to getaway. Sometimes one must just take a drive somewhere, see some new sites, be surrounded by new people. Traveling is something that soothes that restless feeling, and I am able to appreciate being home after being out somewhere different. I definitely am going to plan more day trips on my days off! Hope next day off you are able to enjoy it, relax, and maybe even get out of town and experience a new place. Make the most of your free time.
