Nails always poppin’ & top shelf always burnin’
The ambiance and smell of acrylic powders and alcohol being infused at the nail shops are forever etched in my memory. I would frequent the nail shop on Harding way called Best Nails with my nona and mom as a youngin. Sometimes I would get my nails painted, but mostly I just waited patiently, admiring the Buddha, looking at the nail colors, and wishing I could get long nails too. My nona only went to one nail tech, and she only got one color and style of acrylics: long, square, and Deep Red. It was her signature.
Now I faithfully get my nails done every 3 weeks, and just like my nona, long, square, and I have my own signature color, which is sheer pink in “first kiss.” I love how nails are, in a way, a part of my childhood. The smell of acrylics still brings back a lovely instance of nostalgia.
I will post a nail check every month featuring my cute ass nails, and I usually rolling and smoking a joint/blunt. My nails are always done and always ready for a flick, and I am usually smoking, so it just goes hand in hand. I hope y’all enjoy this collage & also the music video of my fav song right now!
